In its complaint, Greenshift stated that Westfalia admitted in a separate lawsuit that the company had infringed on a Greenshift patent for the technology. Greenshift was awarded a patent just last week, according to a news release from the company.

"In fact, Westfalia seems to boast about this infringement by admitting that, as of the date it filed its complaint, it 'sold 29 centrifuges designed for corn oil recovery to 20 different ethanol plants across the country,'" the lawsuit states.

Greenshift has asked the court for a jury trial, to be paid damages by Westfalia and to prevent additional infringements on Greenshift's patent by Westfalia and the yet-to-be-identified ethanol companies that use the technology
