15%! - UPDATE

UPDATE!
It is Official

see all here

The U.S. EPA issued what Assistant Administrator Gina McCarthy said is a step toward increasing U.S. renewable fuel use when it announced Oct. 13 that it has approved the use of E15 in vehicle models 2007 and newer. The agency denied the use of E15 in older vehicles as well as motorcycles, heavy-duty trucks and off-road vehicles and will issue a decision on model years 2001-’06 following the completion of U.S. DOE testing in November. The partial waiver approval came after nearly two years of extensive fuel testing following a petition for widespread E15 approval filed with the EPA by Growth Energy and a coalition of ethanol producers.

IT not official yet - but its the Wall Street Journal - so it is as close to official as you can get.

"As early as Wednesday, the Environmental Protection Agency plans to announce it will allow ethanol levels in gasoline blends to be as high as 15% for vehicles made since 2007, up from 10% currently, according to two people familiar with the matter.

For cars made between 2001 and 2006, the agency will say it is awaiting the outcome of additional research and not ready to announce a decision."

Looks like the announcement will be made at 1:30pm EST during an EPA conference call to the press:

It's about time. This is great news. I see MM's gobbled up 15 million in A/H again.

This is not great news. Can only be used in vehicles 2007 or newer. Can not be used in small engines such as lawn mowers leaf blowers, boat motors....etc. Gas stations are not required to offer E-15. This will never fly nation wide. Maybe in a corn field in the mid west. 15 million shares at .0004 is only 6 thousand dollars...LOL!!!

2007 and newer account for 20% of the U.S. fleet, however, these vehicles consume 1/3 or 33% of the nation's fuel supply. 2001 and newer will be approved next month.

Who cares about recreational/seasonal motors that don't consume enough to amount to a hill of beans. I think I use maybe 5 gallons a year between my mower and snow blower. Do you drive a boat to work? No, you use more gas than that just hauling it to the lake.

This is a huge victory indeed as evidenced by the big gains in ethonal and related stocks.

I've been using E-10 in all my small engines(mowers blowers weed-wackers scooters chain-saws) for years with no problems. I have no problem using E-15, ESPECIALY IF IT'S CHEAPER, in these engines and could care less if it's approved or not cause it ain't gonna hurt anything.

he passage of E-15 is going to produce a lot of by-product, DDG.

Now's a good time for Greenshift to start gasifying the DDG with their exclusive North American, patented, license.

It turns the DDG into more ethanol!
