Hog

It has been a while since I have seen an estimate of COES coverage in the Ethanol Industry.  This 65% seems a litttle low, and does not cite a source.  The article is written from a Hog Production persepctive - my understanding and experience believes the dairy, beef and poultry industries all prefer (to some degree) higher protein, lower fat.

"By the end of 2012, more than 65% of all U.S. ethanol plants (those operating and those in temporary shutdown) will have the capability to pull corn oil from the ethanol process."

  2. It is interesting that those that cannot express themselves beyond monosyllabic invective pollute the Skunk Blog with their vitriolic diatribe that is not permissible elsewhere.

  3. Buyers ask about how delivery time impacts price, and they can do the same on the protein and fat content of the DDGS, too.” In general, low-oil DDGS has higher crude protein and higher levels of amino acids than regular DDGS. The concentrated amino acid profile is positive for monogastric animals like poultry and swine, while dairy animals may be able to utilize more product thanks to the lower level of fat in low-oil DDGS.

While low-oil and regular DDGS look the same, the dried, low-oil product generally has improved flowability

  5. No way that's a self-portrait of Nobody! Like a previous poster said, it's a cute pig. You would need to post a picture of one of those dirty ferral hogs if you wanted to come close (sorry ferral hogs, didn't mean to insult you).

  7. I wonder how many shares would not have been issued if the patent infringement never happened...The company would look totally different at this juncture....I guess the law suite if won will establish the damages to share holders...

  9. POET's Appeal Of Final Rejection DENIED!$!$

My prediction long ago that POET would not get around GERS' patents and that POET's patent would be denied has come true.

POET's pending patent has been denied again (3rd time). I reported on this final rejection a few months ago. With a final rejection, comes a chance to appeal. POET appealed the final rejection and that appeal was denied on 12-12-12. POET has zero patents for corn oil extraction. The pending patent they bragged about is now dead in the water and worthless.

    Notice of publication 3-11-10
    Non final rejection 11-25-11
    Final rejection 8-1-12
    Notice of appeal 11-29-12
    CTAV appeal denied 12-12-12

Greenshift's pioneering portfolio of patents have gained strength with POET's 3rd and final denial. Not even the largest ethanol producer in the world could get around GERS' patents. The alcohol/sodium patents that don't even get the yields GERS' does with their patent pending enzymes will soon be obsolete when method II hits the market in two weeks. Any producer investing in the AOS is at a major competitive disadvantage to those licensed with Greenshift.

There is no getting around GERS' patents. Here's proof from the largest producer in the world that's tried and failed.

Go to file wrapper and click on CTAV dated 12-12-12 to read the denied appeal response (3 pages).

  12. Slash- I agree it's good thing POET doesn't have a patent, but don't think it's as positve for GERS as you spin it. I've read the rejection and it seems to me some of the logic that their design was not novel could be used by infringers against GERS. I know GERS patents are already issued, but as we've seen the infringers will grasp at any argument they can.

  15. DW an DC own the patent not GS. GS pays them royalty. YA can't take it so they'll refi it.

  16. I called Poet to ask what they system they use. They said they have their own technology. I said ya but didnt those patents get rejected and lost appeal? THEY HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  17. 1) The license to use the DW et. al. technology goes with GERS and is the value here.

    2) Any one think that Poet is just going to roll over and pay royalties for something they are getting for free now just because a few government bureaucrats sent them a piece of paper? We are years away and millions of dollars of legal fees away before that is going to happen. Too bad we didn't get stock certificates, we could give them to our grandchildren, as they are the ones who may cash in.

  18. But what about the investors with Poet...Soon they will want to increase profits from simply plugging in a machine!

  19. Yep, profit is the business and driving force behind adopting profit enhancing inovations...regardless of the creator....

microsoft lets adobe reader into every system because it ultimately enhanced their business...you can bet they tried to innovate around it at one time....
