gas is way to expinsive these days....im sick of it. i got 15 mpg on my f150 and have to put in a 100@ a week to fill 3/4....

1. Biodiesel is a fuel made from a vast variety of vegetable or animal oils, such as soybean, sunflower or canola oil. It can also be made from waste cooking grease and non-food grade nuts or seeds.
2. Biodiesel is a substitute for diesel and will burn in ANY diesel engine* without the need to convert the engine.
3. Biodiesel burns 78% cleaner than regular diesel according to the US EPA and is a sustainable resource.
4. If you make it yourself in an automated machine, you can save a lot of money.
5. Biodiesel has a higher lubricity rate making it better for the life of your engine than regular diesel.
6. The more biodiesel we use, the less dependent we are on foreign, petroleum based oil.
7. Biodiesel is biodegradable. (If the Exxon Valdez had been full of bio-oil, there never would have been a news story.)
8. Biodiesel will blend seamlessly with regular diesel at any ratio.
9. Biodiesel has other applications; it can be used as a heating oil substitute and is sometimes referred to as BioHeat.
* Recent DPF technology on American made trucks make it difficult to burn straight biodiesel in these engines; most can accomodate B20 or less.
The biodiesel reduces the emissions of carbon monoxide by over 50 percent, driving down the pollution in the air. That is because the biodiesel emissions are from recycled carbon that was already in the atmosphere. The biodiesel also has a lot less hydrocarbons. With the biodiesel there is a 71 percent decrease in benzopyrenes.
It is proven that biodiesel fuel can reduce as much as 20 percent of the direct tailpipe emission. The fuel also makes up between 10 and 25 percent more nitrogen oxide that are the tailpipe emissions than regular petrodiesel. Biodiesel has a higher cetane rating than the regular diesel fuel and the benefit of that would be that the car starts quicker with the biodiesel fuel than the standard.
Lastly, biodiesel fuel is the only one of the alternative fuels to have completed the Health Effects Testing requirements that is stated in the Clean Air Act of 1990.

•Biodiesel stays blended with petroleum diesel, making it possible to store and dispense wherever diesel fuel is now stored or sold.
Blended at a 20% rate with petroleum diesel, it has lower wear than traditional fuel and shows improved lubricity. In fact, it is the only alternative fuel “that can actually extend engine life because of its superior lubricating properties.”
•It can replace or blend with petroleum diesel with little or no engine modifications
it is a worthwhile investment for nations to help biodiesel research. Biodiesel may be one major solution to ensuring future fuel supplies that are environmentally friendly.
Biodiesel has higher lubricity (it is more “slippery”) than
petroleum diesel. This is a good thing, as it can be expected
to reduce engine wear.
Biodiesel is much less toxic than petroleum diesel. This can
be a real benefit for spill cleanups.
